The Ambassador of India visits Amurrio

  • Sanjay Verma, Ambassador of India in Spain, visited the facilities of Amurrio Ferrocarril y Equipos S.A. on Tuesday, October 5th.

During the visit to the factory in the town of Alava, the ambassador was favorably impressed by the capabilities and products of the company, especially in relation to track equipment, as the railroad is a means of transport of great importance for communications in the Indian subcontinent.

The visit took place under an insistent rain, which did not prevent any of the scheduled activities. Likewise, the security measures related to the prevention of Covid 19 were respected at all times.

Sanjay Verma, India’s ambassador to Spain since 2018, was born in Agra 56 years ago. With a degree in Economics and a master’s degree in International Studies, he was a university field hockey player, the national sport of India. He has been in the diplomatic career for 31 years, which has allowed him to be in prominent positions in Hong Kong, Manila, New Delhi, Kathmandu, Beijing, Dubai and Addis Ababa, in addition to holding various positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in New Delhi (source: El País).
